What is Comprehensive Coverage?

Your Comprehensive, sometimes referred to as "Comp" covers the incidents that do not involve a collision.  This could be fire, theft, vandalism and glass.  This also includes falling objects, hitting or being hit by an animal and natural disasters.  Most auto finance companies require this to be on your policy and this coverage is subject to a deductible.  The deductible is the amount you pay out of pocket before the insurance company pays.  The higher the deductible, the less the premium. The cost of this coverage is partly determined by the value of your car.
